March Virtual Chapter Meeting & Educational Presentation

The Portland Chapter of the International Institute of Building Enclosure Consultants (IIBEC Portland Chapter) invites all design professionals, consultants, and contractors practicing in the roofing, waterproofing and building enclosure fields to attend a virtual Chapter Meeting & Education presentation on Fall Protection Solutions and the New OSHA Rules.

DESCRIPTION:
The Fall Protection Solutions and the New OSHA Rules presentation will present an over of the new codes pertinent to permanent engineered fall protection systems and design considerations for common hazards, design and installation options.   The three key objects are:

* Possess a basic knowledge of the new OSHA rules and updates to consensus standards & understand the time-line for application of codes and standards.

* Generally understand the different fall protection products and how they can be incorporated in project design.

* Recognize common fall hazards and their solutions.

SPEAKER:

Kynan Wynne is a father of 5, residing in Herber City, Utah.  From 2000-2009, he worked as a consultant in the fall protection industry.  In 2009, Kynan and a group of partners launched Rooftop Anchor, Inc., where he serves as the CEO.  The company is a turn-key provider of engineered fall protection solutions.  Prior to entering the fall protection industry, Kynan owned an Arizona-based-rise window cleaning company for 20 years.  During this time, he served 8 years on the Board of Directors for the International Window Cleaning Association, and additionally, 1 year as President.  He also served for 5 years on the ANSI I-14.1 Window Cleaning Safety Standard Committee.  He is also active participant and voting member of the ANSI Z-359 Fall Protection Standard Committee.

In addition to his other responsibilities at Rooftop Anchor, he has made it a priority to remain actively involved in providing assistance to design professionals, through continuing education on fall protection to AIA and IIBEC Chapters, roofing consultants, and architect firms.  Outside of his responsibilities as CEO, Kynan has coached high school football, has been a volunteer leader for the Boy Scouts of America, and is very active in his church, and loves hunting, fishing, and the great out doors.
